The woman is named Benkate and is after the Etogun in order to add it to her collection. She teams up with Mingchao and Baskerville, and the first town they come upon has been torn apart by a rowdy gang of bandits. According to a helpful local, the bandits are in fact, after a woman who stole the gang-leader (Gunner)'s prized gun as well as blew off his right arm. The next morning, Gunner, who was led to them by the backstabbing local from before, meets our heroes. Gunner is insane with revenge, and so orders his men to kill Mingchao and company! During their escape, a boulder lands on Mingchao! Surrounded, all seems lost for Baskerville, when suddenly Benkate removes her old-woman disguise and proceeds to kick the ass of the bandits. We discover that Mingchao was actually only trapped behind the boulder and uses the spirit of a mouse (its urine) to blast her way free. She jumps in to stop Benkate from killing Gunner, but just then, the bridge collapses from under their feet. Dangling on the edge of the chasm above a raging river, Mingchao saves Benkate from falling and uses the spirit of a boar (through a boar tooth) to propel themselves to safety. In the next town, Baskerville meets in private with a dealer who's also got his sights set on the gun. He rejects Baskerville's price at first, and instead, sends a fake to deal with Mingchao and Benkate in order to get at the Etogun. The bigger badguy behind the scenes, Alternate, whom they fake-rescue at the next modern-modern town. It has a train and everything! Just as Mingchao assists Alternate onto the train (with dreams of rushing off to Hollywood on it,), the train is held hostage by Alternates henchmen. Inside, Mingchao meets Ruriin who is a former dancer, but due to a leg injury is now semi-crippled. Just as she and Mingchao are becoming fast friends (lending dresses and whatnot) Alternate stops the train suddenly and grabs a hold of the Etogun while Mingchao is knocked out. He uses instructions and seems to know how to use it, but fails. He then figures out that perhaps it's the 'glove' that allows the Etogun to be activated!
