Given the opportunity, anybody will rise to the occasion. On the evening of March 19, 1996, the French National Library summons Inspector Jacques Persil to investigate a hideous crime in the Paris Catacombs. Persil believes he has been chosen for his exceptional detective skills. In reality, his superiors requested a moron.

Persil discovers a secret organization that has survived since the French Revolution. Run by librarians of the National Library, the organization has turned intelligence gathering into an advanced game of stock exchange. Its members believe that hunger, poverty, ignorance, war, and desertification anywhere in the world are threats to the security of France, and to humanity itself. Persil joins them reluctantly, mostly because he needs decent wages to start a family. With the help of his brilliant wife, Amira, he begins his journey toward becoming a better man.

Centiki is a satirical adventure about money, power, politics, climate, and espionage — and one ridiculous detective who, in the end, will win your heart. Centiki stock-exchange game isn't confined to the book. It's real, it's online, and you're invited to play.
