Add to basketRaveyda confides that since she’s started working for the Census she has been completely obsessed with Lieutenant Striker’s remark about the Traejex particle being “everywhere but nowhere and nowhere everywhere in everything the Census does.”
An ordinary woman finds herself on an extraordinary mission in R. W. Taegel’s adrenaline-pumping debut novel, Census Deep Zero One.
Census interviewer Raveyda Roberts is thrilled to meet up with an old friend. As the two reminisce about their past days as cyber security specialists, one issue still bothers her: What is the Traejex particle, and why is it so secret that only the most top-secret authorities knew its origins and composition?
Inspired to take on the mystery, Raveyda launches her own investigation—only to find herself disturbingly transported to the year 1790, when the first US census was ever conducted.
Before she is unceremoniously yanked back to the present, Raveyda learns something about the Traejex particle that will change everything.
Once back in the present, Raveyda begins aging at an unprecedented rate—a deadly side effect of her trip to the past.
Will Raveyda find a cure before time runs out?
R. W. Taegel is a Vietnam-era veteran who went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in economics from Park University and a master’s degree from the University of Missouri–Kansas City.
He spent the next thirty-three years helping manage the census, where he provided leadership to thousands of interviewers and helped recruit, hire, train, and supervise data collection and quality control activities. In 2012, Taegel was awarded the census bronze medal for meritorious service.
Having honed his writing skills via workplace training manuals, periodic news briefs, and official correspondence, Taegel tackled fiction in the form of his debut novel, Census Deep Zero One.
