Y Cenhadwr Americanaidd, Cyf. I, Rhif. I, R.W. Roberts, Utica, 1840, 32pp, 3/4 leather, 9.75 x 6.25 , 8vo. In good condition. Lovely signed binding by Welsh scholar, Henry Blackwell. Light wear to extremities with minor scuffing to corners and end bands. Some creasing to joints with slight darkening to leather. Rear and front bottom right corner is very scuffed with small loss. Marbled boards are bright. Bookplate of Henry Blackwell on pastedown. Front hinge tender. Interior lightly toned. pink covers slightly soiled. Free of markings. Binding intact. Top edge gilt. Please see photos. This is the first issue of this Welsh-American periodical which ceased publication in 1901. Blackwell, a Welsh scholar, edited A Bibliography of Welsh Americana in 1942.
