A seminal and highly regarded historical and archaeological study, 'The Celts' by the esteemed scholar Thomas George Eyre Powell, published by Thames and Hudson in 1980. This comprehensive work draws on a wealth of evidence from history, archaeology, and linguistics to vividly portray the rich variety of Celtic life, art, and religion. It masterfully spans the entire reach of barbarian Europe, from the Balkans in the east to France, Spain, Ireland, and Great Britain in the west, offering profound insight into one of Europe's most influential and enduring ancient cultures. This volume is notably rich in visual content, illustrated throughout with numerous plates and figures that enhance the reader's understanding of Celtic civilization. A crucial resource for anyone deeply interested in the origins and development of Celtic peoples. Condition: Hardcover in good condition. The binding is sturdy, and the text block is clean. Lacks a dust jacket, as is common for many scholarly works of this age. Minor shelf wear commensurate with age, but overall a well-preserved copy.…
