Add to basket394 pp., xxx. Stated: "This Dover edition, first published in 1979, is an unabridged and corrected republication of the second (1963) edition. . . published under the title Causality. The author has contributed a new preface for this edition"; '$6.50' price on rear cover bottom right. [There are 2008 (Dover) and 2017 (Routledge) printings of a 4th edition with a new Introduction and short Postscript by the author, but the Table of Contents for the text is same throughout as the 3rd Dover edition here; total 424pp. for 4th. Currently, the short PS can be read at Amaz, while no pagination for the new Introduction is made available.] The Appendix: A Reply to Criticisms, pp. 354-367; Bibliography, pp. 368-378; Index, pp. 379-394. Contents in four PARTS: I. A Clarification of Meaning; II. What Causal Determinism Does Not Assert; III. What Causal Determinism Does Assert; IV. The Function of the Causal Principle in Science. Only the Preface to the Dover Edition, pp. xv-xxii (except for p. xxi), is marked with occasional fine point black ink vertical lines, adjacent to paragraph edges, at previous owner's discretion, and on ffep are found differentiations of 'y = f(x)' and 'log x =' positioned in slanted columns in fine-point ink, else Clean Text. Some superficial, short soft creases down front cover middle (can barely be detected on inside front cover); tiny nick to midpoint left rear cover edge (glued). Spine MAY be faded from olive of front cover to light gray, if not originally light gray, for black lettering on spine is bold black, sharp and distinct, not in the least looking faded: describes much worse than it is, but there you have it: Binding is tight (NO cracks); corners with very minor rubbing (NO bumps or curls); NO remainder marks; NO previous owner names. Essentially a clean text. Solid copy, cheaper than the trivially different 4th Edition.

Books sent in boxes will also be wrapped in paper and suitably packed to avoid movement in box.
