Item description from seller

A beautifully bound example of Blue Stocking Society member Catherine Talbot's charming devotional work, very scarce in all editions. A very scarce example of this devotional and moral work from Talbot, which was first published in 1770 by Elizabeth Carter. Illustrated with an engraved title page. Structured around meditations for each day of the week, Talbot offers reflections on religious duty, personal conduct, prayer, charity, and spiritual self-examination, presenting practical guidance for daily Christian life. Lacking the half title, which provides the full title of this work. Catherine Talbot was an English writer and member of the Blue Stockings Society. In a full calf binding, with gilt detailing to back strip. Externally, excellent, with light fading to back strip. Internally, firmly bound. Spotting to title page, with pages otherwise clean and bright. Lacking half title. Very Good Indeed.
