A fine, well illustrated catalogue, small quarto, pp (4), 158, very clean internally, blue cloth with lettering in gilt, just very slightly marked but reall very good. Loosely inserted at the rear is a small List 44 - Improved and Enlarged Range of Garden Shears. VERY SCARCE. Not dated - perhaps c. 1960 ? With the signature on the front endpaper of Leo Pemberton, who was 25 years Director of Studies at Royal Botanic Gardens Kew. {The catalogue lists and illustrates a huge range of horticultural and agricultural tools, with a final small section on builder's and butcher's tools. The company dates back to a forge in 1817. In 1967, they became one of the amalgamated firms of a newly formed company Spearwell Tools Ltd, and this was later taken over by Spear & Jackson. Wednesbury Forge closed in 2005.
