First printed in 1797, the first manual on the construction of hinges and the hanging of doors, intended as a supplement to Nicholson's New Carpenter's Guide (1792). With interesting annotations by a carpenter "A. Night" of Cheapside on the rear endpapers. Provenance: Daniel Dann (contemporary signature to front pastedown); A. Night, "turning tool maker Cheapside," (inscription and design for a bed post on rear pastedown) Contemporary speckled sheep, rebacked to style with red morocco spine label.
