Meet Leaf, curious and cheerful, living high on a wise oak named Tree.
When an unexpected storm rolls in and changes everything, Leaf must make a choice — cling to what she knows or trust the Wind and let go.
Perfect for children ages 3-8, When Leaf Let Go explores themes of resilience, mindfulness, and the beauty of transformation, helping young readers understand that change, though sometimes difficult, can lead to growth, new experiences, and self-discovery.
ADVANCED PRAISE
“When Leaf Let Go is exactly what children need to work through fears. The calming language and colorful illustrations engage the reader as Leaf learns, with the support and encouragement of Tree, to release her fear and adapt to a changing environment during an unexpected storm…. A charming and beautiful story about trust, strength, and perseverance. This book is a great addition to any library.” – Kary Pekarek, LCSW, Samaracare
“When Leaf Let Go serves as a wonderful reminder for readers of all ages that while letting go of what feels comfortable can be challenging, embracing the unknown opens opportunities for personal growth and the discovery of new adventures.” – Kristin Brower, M.Ed., PSD202 Bonnie McBeth Learning Center, Principal
“When Leaf Let Go is a lovely metaphor that illustrates how overcoming fear of the unknown can lead to even better life experiences. Also, sometimes doing the very things that scare us the most are what lead us to the greatest personal growth. I can't wait to see how Leaf will bloom in the future!” – Erica Martin, M.Ed., Get More Math!, President
“The characters are lovely, the illustrations are beautiful, and the message is powerful. I'm amazed at how poignantly the lesson is conveyed in this wonderful story, appropriate for both children and adults. All will enjoy it and resonate with the message. I loved this book." – Gina Boedeker, Author of Hard Stop: Live with Intention and without Regret
“When Leaf Let Go is a sweet story about learning to trust while in the middle of inevitable change. I felt all the emotions Leaf experienced from fear to joy, as well as the trust that Leaf formed in herself and others along that journey. When Leaf Let Go is the perfect story to share with young children as they learn to navigate the sometimes-scary world on their own and believe in themselves along the way.” – Beneen Prendiville, M.Ed., Branching Minds
