Azalea

This isn’t a mistake.

That’s what we promised each other the night we betrayed my best friend – his little sister. We were never meant to cross this line. Never even thought about it until this night... the night tragedy struck leaving eight of our peers violently dismembered.

While they were being ripped to shreds, we were discovering what it was like to create a massive secret, but what good is a secret if the one you’re keeping it from is dead?

The case was closed and questions were left unanswered while devastation shook the ground we walked on. In its wake, a painful wedge was left between Ryker and me. As he wallowed in the dark, I fled to university.

Ryker

Two years... It’s been two years since Azalea had walked out of my life and left me to rot in my own misery. Now she’s home for the summer and old feelings resurrect like Jesus himself.

While she wreaks havoc on my heart, another massacre puts four more of our friends in the ground. There are just too many similarities between the two cases, forcing us to set out for the truth.

And the truth? A mad scientist, a failed cure for starvation, a blood infection rendering patients into “vampires” ...

Now, we’re stuck between saving our town or saving ourselves. That Happily Ever After we fought so hard for is beginning to look a little bleak.

Please tell me we make it.
