Bliss Sherman doesn't believe in curses-that is until she arrives at Cape Destiny on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. As a young woman doing a man's job, she is determined to make a name for herself and her new engineering firm by accomplishing an incredible feat-moving the Cape Destiny Lighthouse inland before it's swallowed by the Atlantic Ocean. Shattered by her divorce and wounded by the betrayal of her ex-husband and former business partner, Jonathan, Bliss, having won the coveted lighthouse relocation contract over him, now must prove herself. She arrives at Cape Destiny knowing that this project will either establish her as the leader in their industry or result in financial ruin. Bliss is aware that some residents living in the small Southern coastal town of Wingina are opposed to the relocation of the historic lighthouse, but when the move begins and the relocation project is sabotaged, she begins to wonder if the curse that is rumored to be attached to the lighthouse may be true. Handsome, mysterious Parker Swain, the descendant of the lighthouse keepers, doesn't want to believe in the curse on the lighthouse, but after suffering a heartbreaking tragedy, he fears it is real. With all else lost in his life, he can't lose the lighthouse, his only connection to the past.Despite butting heads over the lighthouse, Bliss and Parker can't resist their attraction for one another and fall in love. As the date for the move of the lighthouse approaches, someone viciously attacks Bliss, presenting her with her greatest challenge yet: Discovering who wants her dead. When all clues point to Parker, she dismisses her suspicions, deciding to trust him and her heart, but as the evidence mounts against him, she begins to doubt not only herself and her heart, but Parker. Can she trust her judgment? Can she trust Parker? Most importantly, when a hurricane looms, and she find herself alone with him on the cape, cut off from the rest of the world, can she trust Parker with her life? A romantic suspense with all the seaside moody romance of du Maurier's Rebecca, Cape Cursed casts a spell of sensuous deception and seductive danger.
