★What if the case for Christianity collapses under the weight of the Protestant Bible itself?

◆In Canon Crossfire, retired attorney Matthew Mark McWhorter presents a bold, evidence-based investigation into the Christian biblical canon-one that began in skepticism and ended in an unexpected conversion. Written for critical thinkers, theology buffs, skeptics, and believers alike, this book explores a fundamental question: Did the early Church reject the Catholic "Apocrypha"-or were they always part of authentic Christian Scripture?

◆Many modern Protestant theologians assert that the early Church embraced the Jewish Old Testament canon while rejecting the Apocrypha. This claim is often used to support the integrity of the 66-book Protestant Bible and, by extension, the core truth claims of Christianity. But McWhorter dismantles this assumption with meticulous historical research, legal-style reasoning, and scriptural analysis, all centered around a single explosive question: What if the Apocrypha were part of the apostolic deposit-and what if rejecting them undermines the very case Protestants use to defend the resurrection of Christ?

◆Canon Crossfire cross-examines all the Church Fathers used to support Protestant canon theory. Origen, Jerome, Rufinus, Athanasius, Epiphanius, Cyril of Jerusalem, Eusebius, Irenaeus, Clement of Alexandria, Polycarp, Justin Martyr, and even the misunderstood Melito of Sardis are called to the stand. One by one, their actual words and practices reveal that these early voices of the faith did not reject Susanna, Baruch or other "apocryphal" works-in fact, they frequently preached them as sacred, inspired Scripture taught to them by the Apostles and their disciples.

◆This book does not attempt to prove the Apocrypha are divinely inspired. Instead, it aims to prove that the early Church, whose judgment Protestants trust to define the New Testament, did accept these books-and that this acceptance is not an obscure minority view but the mainstream and universal stance for the first four centuries of Christianity.

◆Through legal analogies, statistical references from the King James Bible, New Testament cross-references to Apocrypha, and primary source analysis, McWhorter argues that a Protestant rejection of the Apocrypha undermines the same evidentiary standards used to defend the Gospels. If the canon lists and patristic witness are flawed regarding the Old Testament, how can they be reliable regarding the New?

◆Canon Crossfire is not just a theological deep dive-it is a spiritual and intellectual journey from atheism to belief. Written with honesty, wit, and a willingness to admit human fallibility, this book invites readers to examine the foundation of Christian faith with fresh eyes.

Matthew Mark McWhorter is a reformed corporate attorney, now happily retired and living in Columbus, Ohio. What began as a skeptical investigation into the foundations of Christianity led him on an unexpected journey from atheism to belief-and ultimately to a firm conviction that the Catholic "Apocrypha" were fully embraced by the early Church. Drawing on his legal expertise, McWhorter applies courtroom-style analysis to biblical canon debates, exposing inconsistencies in modern Protestant arguments while emphasizing intellectual honesty above all. His first book, Canon Crossfire: Does The Protestant Bible Blow Up the Case for Christianity?, presents a compelling challenge to conventional theology and invites readers to reexamine the evidence for themselves. McWhorter's work is bold, thoroughly researched, and driven by a deep desire for truth. All proceeds from his writing are donated. Visit CanonCrossFire.com for more.
