Healthcare and nursing students are exposed to various stressors in their everyday academic life and in their internships. The academic demands put many students under pressure. It is important to introduce students to ways of coping with stress. To answer the research question, a structured literature search was conducted in the PubMed, CINAHL and PubPsych databases as well as a hand search on Google Scholar between October 2024 and March 2025. The six identified studies were reviewed and assessed for quality. The studies focused on the effect of mindfulness meditation on nursing students. All studies compared the intervention group with the control group. Some studies used pre- and post-tests. Mindfulness-based interventions, such as mindfulness meditation, reduce stress and some other emotions in nursing students, but more research is needed on the duration and frequency of the interventions.
