Poet, activist and founder of the newly coined form of verse and fledgling movement, “Conscious Esotericism,” Phurious Styles, in this collection of original, autobiographical poems and commentaries, illustrates how his poetry is intrinsically tied to the spiritual, economic and social circumstances of a vulnerable and volatile era. Styles' ubiquitous versification and subtleties of conceived expression paint a mental picture as vivid as Picasso's brush strokes transformed simple canvas into national treasures.

Just as Amiri Baraka, Gil Scott-Heron and The Last Poets came to be considered the godfathers of what we now know as rap/hip-hop, Styles' grammatical structures, word play and rhapsodic, metrical composition will permanently secure his legacy as the architect and prolific advocate of “Conscious Esotericism,” as well as ensure that his audience will, not only be stimulated beyond measure, but also devour every word as a starving predator voraciously engulfs its prey.
