When "Call It Sleep", a critically celebrated novel by Henry Roth, was first published in 1934, its public sales were very low, and thus the book was dropped from publication and languished, almost forgotten. In 1964 Roth again decided to try the market for this book. Avon Books, one of the top paperback publishers of the time, took the book on and published the reprint: sales were much better for the reprint. It happened that Avon was experimenting at that time with rounded fore-edge corners, and this copy, a Third Printing from November, 1964 has the rounded corners. (This experiment in cover style was pretty quickly dropped, so later printings do not have the rounded corners.)
