Pastor, have you ever felt like Sunday morning was barreling toward you before you were ready for it? One of the most challenging aspects of the preaching life is the reality that Sunday is always coming. Whether you're a new preacher looking to better understand your call, a veteran preacher looking for fresh ideas to hone your craft, or somewhere in between, The Call to Preach provides support, encouragement, and practical tools for your journey. Dr. Steve Estep draws on twenty-five years of preaching experience to provide wisdom, advice, and best practices for sermon preparation. In these pages you'll find tools for engaging the biblical text, sample sermons from great thinkers and preachers, and a wealth of encouragement for the demanding, rewarding work of proclaiming the Word of God.

Dr. Steve Estep is the senior pastor of First Church of the Nazarene in Marion, Ohio. He is a graduate of Mt. Vernon Nazarene University, Nazarene Theological Seminary (MDiv), and McCormick Theological Seminary (DMin in preaching). Dr Estep has been an adjunct professor of preaching at Nazarene Theological Seminary since 2006. He and his wife, Michelle, have three children, Brandon, Brooke, and Blake.
