Paperback. Step into the smoky, dangerous shadows of 1920s Weimar Berlin. In the heart of a city teetering between decadence and despair, Margot Vogel rules the Nachtfalter cabaret with a steady hand and a disciplined heart. To her patrons, she is the iron-willed proprietor who keeps the chaos of the post-war world at bay. To Hans Schmidt, a war-scarred veteran who watches from the corner table, she is the anchor in a sea of rising political unrest. But when the charismatic Dr. Wolfram Kaiser arrives with his "Caligari Protocol," the carefully curated order of Margot's life begins to unravel.Kaiser isn't just a performer; he is a predator of the subconscious. His "exploration of the sleeping mind" is a high-stakes psychological game that threatens to hollow out Margot's lead singer, Liesl, and turn the cabaret into a laboratory of terror. As Kaiser's hypnotic influence spreads, Margot finds herself plagued by fractured memories she cannot explain: the scent of antiseptic, the sight of faded floral wallpaper, and the haunting silhouette of a sister she was forced to forget.A chilling historical thriller where the mind is the ultimate battlefield. As Margot and Hans delve into Kaiser's dark history, the trail leads them to Das Schattenhaus-a derelict sanatorium with a legacy of medical atrocities. To save her cabaret, her family, and her very sanity, Margot must confront the gaslighting of a master manipulator and reclaim the trauma she buried long ago. In a world of flickering amber lights and blood-red velvet, the line between performance and madness is razor-thin.Atmospheric Noir: Experience the grit and glamour of interwar Berlin, where every shadow hides a secret.Psychological Depth: A harrowing exploration of repressed memory, trauma, and the early, dark days of psychoanalysis.Compelling Characters: From the stoic Hans to the enigmatic Margot, witness a fight for agency against an unstoppable villain.Twisting Mystery: Uncover the truth behind the Caligari Protocol before the curtain falls for good.Perfect for fans of Babylon Berlin and The Shadow of the Wind, The Caligari Protocol is a haunting journey into the depths of the human soul. Can Margot wake up from the nightmare before Kaiser takes total control?
