Full green cloth with striking orange, blue and gilt design to front cover and spine, 9-1/2" x 7-1/2", 178 pp., tipped-in plates by Harold Sutton Palmer, folding plate to rear. Slight wear at head and tail of spine, faint vertical discoloration to gilt title box on spine panel, faint scratch near center front board; internally has a contemporary bookplate, a later owner's inscription; front hinge slightly wobbly, foxing to foredge, and final few pages. Henry Hunt Clark was an art and design instructor who taught Amy Sacker who became an important binding designer. Although he was not a professional binding designer, Hunt's cover featuring Mt. Shasta and orange trees is a stunning example of an Arts and Crafts design, and has long been beloved by collectors of decorative bindings. Seller Inventory # 002298
