Add to basketThis 7.75 x 11.125 inch, 229 page hardcover book with dust wrapper is a gorgeous copy of this elegant John Henry Nash 1937 reprint of this title. The original printing from 1839 from a London publisher and with a 1919 reprint by Thomas C. Russell preceding this Nash edition - - with the 1937 date given on the title page. This copy is in fine condition with just the very slightest touch of wear to the magnificent paper-covered boards with brown cloth spine-strip - - with fine paper spine label virtually ?as new.? The book is protected by the original plain brown marbled paper jacket with also just a touch of time wear and the book is now protected by a custom glassine wrapper. The interior text pages are strictly fine with some previous owner?s penciled notations on the ffep as to the issues of this title and with a small ?Paul Elder and Company? booksellers stamp on the rear paste-down and four listed prices for this edition in pencil on the rear free end-paper. Beyond that there are no markings, damage, or wear to note with the rear fold-out map present and showing a very modest crease to one of its folds but really, this book is in fabulous condition and stands strong for the reprinting of one of the most important works from early California and as number 38 in the prestigious Zamorano 80 titles - - and then further - - as a top-of-the-line example of the work by one of the very best fine press designers and printers of the twentieth century, John Henry Nash. 229 pages.
