Paperback. Caelen America is a deeply personal, unorthodox novel; a painstakingly created work of experimental fiction. When twelve powerful biological machines known as Caelens are banished to storage facilities that cannot properly feed them, all but two go insane. America is devastated as these creatures ravage the country in a destructive rage. Caelen One hopes to unite America in a utopia with the impressive power of its brothers, but the country rejects them, and after the ruin of war, America enters into a strange and primitive era. People lose interest in country-wide communication and adopt a superstitious distrust of technology. Factions, cults, and false beliefs arise. Now, generations later, three young people-Adrian, William, and the disabled Hady-discover truths about their strange future, not knowing that one Caelen still slumbers, not having awakened with its brothers. Caelen Eight wakes to find the righteous efforts to grow a new Caelen being stunted by selfish politicians, and now it's convinced that everyone in its path is a responsible party.
