Red Boards. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Type: Z A lovely copy of this auction catalogue, bound in 20th century red leatherette boards with gilt embossed lettering to the front board. Illustrated with 50 full page sepia plates with tissue guards, containing photographic images and engravings of The Crystal Palace. Title page includes the details of the auctioneers, solicitors and receiver and manager. The board corners are a little turned in and there is slight rubbing to the head and tail of the spine and board corners. There is a tear of 21cms from the lower edge of pp15, which has been neatly repaired with tape at the lower margin and around the textblock, so not obscuring any text. A few page corners of the tissue guards are lightly creased. There is slight scattered foxing mainly to the end papers. There is a 4.5cm paper-repaired tear to the tail of the title page. At least one other paper repair to a short tear to the margin and a couple of other expertly repaired very short tears - bearly noticable Some foxing and a couple of soil marks to the title page. Scattered foxing elsewhere. This copy lacks the large folding coloured plan which appears to have come in a separate envelope to the auction catalogue itself. Clean and tight. A very good copy - essentially well preserved of this scarce piece of ephemera (now very much a book) full of large charming sepia plates. Seller Inventory # 223901
