A few fox marks on titlepage and in margins; small, neat bookplate. A good plus copy. Second edition, published same years as the first. Osborn was a captain in the Royal Navy. He describes travel from China to Japan, Japanese scenery at Nagasaki, the Dutch establishment in Japan, a visit by the governor of Nagasaki, an earthquake at Simoda, and a visit to Yedo, as well as Japanese customs and attitudes of the Japanese toward westerners.
