Item description from seller

This work details the activity of the Mt. Tamalpais & Muir Woods Railroad, operating north of San Francisco in redwood country. The road up was about one-half mile in elevation, moving from Mill Valley up to the big trees. Thirty years of steam history is here with more than 100 photographs of engines, rolling stock, and various scenic points. The endpapers are maps, showing many horseshoe turns, earning the term "crooked" for this rail line. Along with a roster of equipment, there is a bibliography and an index. This copy is in Near Fine condition with modest shelf wear on the dust jacket. A great addition to a railroading libaray.
