Folio, (346x250mm), [4],xxviii.[2],[100]p. 50 hand-coloured engraved plates, duplicated title pages and parallel text in English and French, small piece torn from the foremargin of 1 text leaf without textual loss. Near-contemporary half calf, marbled paper sides and endleaves, joints and corner tips rubbed, a piece of leather missing from the tail of the backstrip. Bookplate. (Isaac 'Checklist' in William Bulmer, the fine printer in context 375). An early issue with the English title page, publisher's advertisement, and several text leaves, watermarked W. Elgar 1796; the French introduction is watermarked E&J 1802, most of the text leaves are watermarked 1803 (the English text being on the rectos and French on the versos), while only one plate carries a watermark: J. Whatman 1804.
