About this Item

Large full color reproductions of the artist's dramatic abstract expressionst paintings, which he calls "Cosmic" art. Title of book allegedly originates with Andy Warhol, who this artist says he knew in New York. Warhol is said to have told Armstrong that he, Warhol, was the "first wizard" and when Armstrong asked what he was, Warhol said "you are the last Wizard." Needless to say, this artist is noted for self promotion. This is one of three art books produced by him. He prices his paintings in a range from $300,000 to $3,000,000. Some of the art reproduced in this book have high prices noted. On this artist's website, he advertises a complete set of his three books at $1,000. This book being one of the three. Without passing judgement on the importance of this art and artist, it must be admitted that the paintings reproduced in this volume are impressive in a wildly colorful way. Artist claims critics have said his art takes up where Jackson Pollock left off. I count 63 pages of paintings in this volume, and each bold and colorful reproduction is folio sized and printed on glossy black paper. Two pages of large size type for text. Book is inscribed on first flyleaf as follows: "To Carol L. I wish you Peace, Love & Magic! You R my favorite actor in the world. Always, Jack." Inscription is in gold pen on the black paper. Black boards, front and back, have color reproduction centerpieces. This artist apparently lives in Palm Springs, California. Claims to have sold his expensive art to several notable collectors. Even if you don't buy the artist hype, the book itself is an impressive art book from a technical perspective. Photos to follow. Size: Elephant Folio. Bookseller Inventory # 2784
