- Book 2 of 2: CONSTRUCTION LAW & CONTRACT PROCEDURES For CONSULTANTS and CONTRACTORS
Construction Law & Contract Procedures — Volume 2 is a clear, practical, and comprehensive guide to how construction contracts are administered in real‑world projects. Written for engineers, quantity surveyors, contract managers, project managers, consultants, and students, this volume explains the full lifecycle of contract procedures using simple language, structured explanations, and industry‑aligned examples.
This book focuses on the essential processes that govern modern construction projects—from tendering and contract award to variations, claims, payments, risk allocation, and dispute resolution. It breaks down complex legal and contractual concepts into easy‑to‑understand steps, helping readers understand not only what must be done, but why each procedure matters.
Drawing from international best practices and widely used standard forms such as FIDIC, this volume explains how responsibilities are allocated, how risks should be managed, and how contractual rights can be protected through proper documentation and timely communication. It also highlights common pitfalls in contract administration and provides practical guidance to avoid disputes, delays, and financial loss.
Whether you are involved in contract drafting, project execution, site management, commercial management, or claims preparation, this book serves as a reliable reference for day‑to‑day decision‑making. It is equally valuable for students preparing for professional exams or seeking to build a strong foundation in construction law and contract procedures.
Key topics covered include:
-
Contract formation, tendering, and award procedures
-
Roles and responsibilities of the Employer, Engineer, and Contractor
-
