- Teoría e Historia de la Arquitectura
‘A beautifully designed book … and a thought-provoking exploration of an important subject.’ – John Pawson
A century-spanning celebration of one of the world’s most versatile and abundant building materials
Explore a dizzying array of concrete structures, from beautiful buildings by acclaimed architects to functional aircraft hangars and vast power plants.
This smart, stylish survey features iconic and acclaimed projects by Le Corbusier, Frank Lloyd Wright, Zaha Hadid, Herzog & de Meuron, and Tadao Ando, as well as many lesser-known newcomers. Readers will find beloved cultural spaces, such as the Guggenheim in New York and London Zoo’s famous penguin pool, as well as more mundane edifices also made from poured concrete. Each project is presented with a carefully selected image accompanied by an engaging and informative extended caption.
Presented in a mini format perfect for gifting, Concrete features a textured cover and more than 170 inspiring photographs.
