The companion volume to Bloxam's A Companion to the Principles of Gothic Ecclesiastical Architecture, this volume focuses on architectural details wit numerous text illlustrations "with an explanation of technical terms, and a centenary of ancient terms." Matthew Holbeche Bloxam was a Warwickshire antiquary and amateur archaeologist. In 1831 be became the clerk of the cour in Rugby, and while visiting country churches to consult their registers in t course of his work, Bloxam began making the observations which led to his subsequent knowledge of ecclesiastical architecture. With Dublin bookseller' blind stamp on front blank leaf and owner's signature on title page.
