First edition hard back binding in publisher's original brick red cloth covers, gilt title and author lettering to the blue cloth spine and to the front cover, end papers are decorated with styles of coaches to the front and antique maps to the back. Large oblong folio. 15'' x 20¼''. Contains 24 full-page single-sided colour plates and 196 duotone illustrations by contemporary artists throughout including Hogarth, Rowlandson and James Pollard. Very Good condition book in Good condition dust wrapper with small pieces of paper missing along the bottom edge of the front cover and to the bottom of the spine. Dust wrapper supplied in archive acetate film protection. Heavy volume weighing 4.5 kg, extra postage will be requested over and above our default setting for destinations outside the UK.
