CLOUD-NATIVE PLATFORM ENGINEERING
Security, Observability, Scalability & Microservices – Capstone Project
Modern software is no longer built as monolithic applications. Today's enterprise platforms rely on cloud-native architectures, microservices, automation, and scalable infrastructure to deliver secure, resilient, and high-performance solutions.
Cloud-Native Platform Engineering is the ninth volume in the Programming Step by Step and More series. This hands-on guide bridges the gap between software development, DevOps, and cloud engineering, providing a practical roadmap for designing, deploying, and operating production-ready applications.
Inside this book, you'll learn how to:
- Design cloud-native architectures using modern engineering principles.
- Build and deploy containerized applications with Docker.
- Develop modular microservices for scalable enterprise systems.
- Deploy applications using Google Cloud Run and managed cloud services.
- Automate builds and deployments with modern CI/CD workflows.
- Apply security best practices for cloud-native applications.
- Implement observability through logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing.
- Design resilient, fault-tolerant, and highly scalable systems.
- Understand Platform Engineering concepts used by modern technology organizations.
- Complete a real-world capstone project that integrates the technologies and techniques covered throughout the series.
Whether you are a software developer, DevOps engineer, cloud engineer, computer science student, or IT professional, this book provides the knowledge and practical experience needed to build modern distributed systems using today's leading cloud-native technologies.
By the end of this book, you'll understand not only how to deploy applications to the cloud, but also how to design secure, observable, scalable, and maintainable platforms that follow the architectural principles used by today's most successful technology companies.
