About the Authors: Dr. Rachelle M. Smith has served as Director of Composition at Emporia State University for the last sixteen years. She did her doctoral work at Texas Christian University with a specialization in rhetoric and composition. She enjoys teaching science fiction by women, as well as classic mysteries by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Wilkie Collins, and Agatha Christie.



Dr. Kenneth Springer is a developmental psychologist. After receiving his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1990, he served on the faculty of SMU’s Psychology Department before moving to the Simmons School of Education and Human Development in 2002. Dr. Springer currently teaches undergraduate classes in educational psychology, as well as research methods and statistics for graduate students.



Dominick Marullo, M.A., is currently a high school English teacher with a Bachelors degree in English/Education and a Masters in Writing. He has also taught a creative writing course at a local community college. Over the years, he has written for several educational publishers in the area of test preparation, as well as for high school and college review books.
