A good thick hardback book, quarter-bound in leather, with matching corners, nice olive green silk sides and marbled inside boards. This wonderful book is in good condition, normal wear, marks and tear apply consistent with use and age. Gilt titles on the spine, some wear to corners and spine only to expected with a book that's over 130 years old. 1018 pages, plus appendix page, all intact and good tight binding. I would imagine the book has been nicely rebound at some time previously, which in my humble opinion has been done rather well. All pages, text, and illustrations are in good, clean, readable order. Gilt edge to top of papers. A truly fascinating and concise dictionary outlining the period of the Greek and Roman period of Biography, Mythology and Geography.
