The author also provides an in~depth historical look at channeling, from its earliest recorded instances as religious revelation, through centuries of underground activity, to its current widespread popularity and acceptance. Klimo details the startling uniformity of channeled material and the effect of these "teachings" on both those who channel them and those who come to listen. Drawing on cross~cultural findings in various fields from physics to psychology and even parapsychology, the author offers a number of possible explanations for channeling ~ from psychological disturbance to telepathy to the possibility that other dimensional beings might really exist. More importantly, the author uncovers parallels between channeling and other commonly accepted phenomena of consciousness, arguing that, far from being a rare and unusual event, channeling may be a potential everyone possesses to one degree or another. He offers a summary of the methods by which one may explore this fascinating field, as well as guidelines for judging the validity and worth of channeled material. Channeling includes detailed notes that will allow interested readers to seek out original sources and to pursue their own study of this extraordinary phenomenon. …
