C++17 Programming Masterclass is a comprehensive guide designed to help you move beyond basic C++ syntax and develop the practical skills required to write modern, maintainable, efficient, and professional-quality C++ applications.
Built around the C++17 standard, this book takes you through the language progressively, from fundamental programming concepts to advanced object-oriented design, modern C++ features, generic programming, resource management, multithreading, concurrency, error handling, and professional software engineering practices.
Whether you are learning C++ for the first time, coming from another programming language, or looking to modernize your existing C++ skills, this book provides a structured path toward becoming a confident modern C++ developer.
Learn C++ the Modern Way
Modern C++ is much more than traditional classes, pointers, and manual memory management. C++17 introduced and refined numerous features that make C++ code more expressive, safer, cleaner, and easier to maintain.
Throughout this book, you will learn how to take advantage of modern C++ techniques while understanding the principles behind them.
You will explore:
- Core C++17 syntax and programming fundamentals
- Variables, data types, operators, expressions, and control flow
- Functions, references, pointers, arrays, and strings
- Classes, objects, constructors, destructors, and encapsulation
- Inheritance, polymorphism, abstraction, and composition
- Operator overloading and custom types
- Templates and generic programming
- The Standard Template Library (STL)
- Containers, iterators, algorithms, and function objects
- Lambda expressions and functional programming techniques
- Smart pointers and modern resource management
- Move semantics and perfect forwarding
- auto, decltype, structured bindings, and other modern language features
- Exception handling and robust error-management techniques
- File handling and data processing
- Multithreading and thread management
- Mutexes, locks, condition variables, and synchronization
- Futures, promises, and asynchronous programming
- Atomic operations and concurrent programming concepts
- Design principles for maintainable C++ applications
- Debugging, testing, performance considerations, and code organization
C++17 Programming Masterclass is suitable for a wide range of learners and developers.
It is designed for:
- Beginners who want to learn modern C++
- Developers transitioning from languages such as C, Java, C#, or Python
- Students studying computer science or software engineering
- Programmers preparing for C++ development roles
- Developers who want to strengthen their object-oriented programming skills
- Experienced C++ programmers who want to understand modern C++17 techniques
- Developers interested in multithreading and concurrent programming
- Programmers building performance-oriented applications
