CANCER AFFECTS TWO LIVES. THIS BOOK WAS WRITTEN FOR BOTH
A cancer diagnosis changes everything-not only for the person diagnosed, but also for the partner, family member or friend standing beside them. While the patient faces treatment, uncertainty and recovery, the carer experiences their own fears, pressures and emotional challenges. Yet the carer’s experience is often overlooked.
The C-Word Blueprint by Giles Biermann offers a distinctive approach to the cancer journey, written for both the patient and the person supporting them. Drawing on his experience of surviving cancer twice, including stage four Hodgkin lymphoma, Giles explores the relationship between mindset, emotions, personal resilience and the challenges of living with cancer.
TWO WARRIORS. ONE JOURNEY
This book introduces two identities:
The Warrior: The person navigating diagnosis, treatment, uncertainty and recovery.
The Glass Warrior: The partner, relative or friend providing support while managing their own emotional journey.
Both deserve recognition, understanding and guidance. Through dedicated advice and practical action plans for each, this book encourages patients and carers to approach the experience together while protecting their individual wellbeing.
DISCOVER TWO ORIGINAL CONCEPTS
At the heart of the book are two distinctive concepts developed by Giles Biermann:
ThoughtOnus explores personal responsibility for our thoughts, internal dialogue and habitual mental patterns. It encourages greater awareness of how we respond to fear, uncertainty and adversity.
Harmonised Collective Resonance explores the power of shared intention, mutual understanding and aligned focus between patient and carer. It presents a different way of approaching cancer- not as an isolated struggle, but as a shared journey.
These concepts give The C-Word Blueprint its distinctive identity.
AN EIGHT-PHASE BLUEPRINT FOR MINDSET AND RESILIENCE
Explore subjects including:
• The mind-body connection, neuroscience and epigenetics
• Emotional wellbeing, stress and resilience
• Thought patterns, beliefs and personal identity
• Visualisation, guided imagery and affirmations
• Gratitude, optimism and emotional awareness
• Personal transformation during and after cancer
• Practical guidance for patients and carers
The book combines explanations, chapter summaries and dedicated Warrior Blueprint and Glass Warrior Blueprint action plans, giving both readers practical ideas to reflect on and apply throughout their journey.
WRITTEN BY SOMEONE WHO HAS FACED CANCER TWICE
Giles Biermann brings personal experience to a subject that touches millions of lives. Having faced two cancer diagnoses, including stage four Hodgkin lymphoma, he understands the uncertainty and emotional demands that accompany the journey. His aim is to help others approach the experience with greater awareness, preparation, resilience and connection.
Whether you are newly diagnosed, undergoing treatment, recovering from cancer, or supporting someone you love, this book offers a perspective that recognises both sides of the experience.
This book offers a complementary perspective on emotional wellbeing, personal agency and the importance of human connection.
CANCER MAY BE DIAGNOSED IN ONE PERSON, BUT ITS IMPACT REACHES FAR BEYOND THEM
Discover The C-Word Blueprint and explore a distinctive approach to the cancer journey-one that recognises both the Warrior and the Glass Warrior.
