Paperback. In "The Buzzards Are Gathering", the legendary drifter Blake Durant rides away from a peaceful stint on the Reagan ranch, only to stumble into a "backwoods hell". Seeking nothing but the open trail, Durant is instead drawn into a deadly confrontation with Gideon Sawyer, the mentally warped patriarch of a murderous family cult.Alongside the cowardly Barton, Durant must navigate a landscape of betrayal and brutality to rescue Ella Dillon, a woman caught in the Sawyers' terrifying grip. From high-stakes ambushes to a desperate showdown on a rocky bridge, Durant's survival hinges on his fast reflexes and iron grit.Written by the prolific Des Dunn under the pseudonym Sheldon B. Cole, this gripping Western explores the high cost of independence. It is a raw, atmospheric tale of frontier justice where the past is never truly forgotten, and the buzzards are always circling.
