A wonderful collection of poems: one poem for each of our 58 native British butterflies. A new take on appreciating our butterfly fauna. Foreword by Jeremy Thomas OBE.
About the Author: Richard Harrington, a professional entomologist and Honorary Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society, originally graduated in Zoology and Applied Entomology from Imperial College (IC), London. After gaining his PhD, also at IC, he started work on aphid ecology at Rothamsted Research in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, the World's oldest agricultural research station. Later, he headed the Rothamsted Insect Survey (which runs a nationwide network of tungsten light traps and 12.2m high suction traps, providing long-term spatial and temporal data on many insects, especially moths and aphids) for a total 36 years. Richard is author of numerous scientific papers, as well as co-editor of the book 'Aphids as Crop Pests'. Away from his love of insects, Richard is a keen walker and (when not injured) runner.
