In todays’ Small to Midsize Enterprises (SME’s), few dispute the value of being able to seamlessly integrate disparate data into a single stream of truth from which decision makers are presented a cohesive, continuously updated, picture of performance well within their decision cycle times. However, cost and political will often trump getting state of the art BI projects off the wish list and into production. While most understand the value of timely, believable, actionable information, actual acquisition and mining facts for the organization’s benefit requires tools and especially training in methodologies to capture, store, and successfully exploit the data. Building a comprehensive BI environment is generally considered to be prohibitively expensive for the SME. It need not be so. By providing a path that makes use of the cutting edge findings of recognized thought leaders in the BI and data warehouse arenas, organizations can construct an easily implementable Extended BI Data Warehouse environment in an affordable, incremental manner.

A frequent contributor to local, regional, and international conferences and author of The Vault Unleashed, a business intelligence novel, Jim Raper brings over forty years of hands on analyst, designer, builder, and architect experience to the business intelligence and data warehouse arena.
