This research report by Simon Webley and Elise More provides evidence to company chairmen and Chief Executive Officers as well as the general public, that conducting business with integrity and fairness are not only morally right, but are also worthwhile. The performance of a sample from FTSE 350 companies with an available code of ethics was compared to a similar sample of those without. Four financial measures were used and the data covered the period 1997-2001. The annual list of Britain's Most Admired Companies and the SERM socio/ethical risk reduction rating were also used in the research.
