About this Item
Burn's Abridgment, 1792, in excellent condition for its age. Sound leather binding, intact with no separation, pages clean with almost no foxing, spine has no title (probably original). This printing is the first New Hampshire printing and the second edition printed in America. This printing is complete with 454 pages with the usual misnumbering: pp. 180-189, 270-279, and 360-369 were omitted. The only interior markings are three interesting early owner names, written in fine ink on front and rear flyleaf: John Nutting (a captain in the Minutemen), John Tapham (a colonel in the Revolutionary Army), and James Sawyer (who died in 1859 at age 94 in Berlin, VT).
