A very good copy. The author writes: 'Funny, isn't it, how the hardships of the bush are dismissed by time and only the fondest memories survive. Gone are all thoughts of life in a cold, damp tent, constantly wet boots and clothing, blisters, blowflies, chafed thighs, sore backs, sandflies, hook grass, bush lawyer and dehydrated food. Supplejack, rainstorms, snow and aching legs don't feature either, dismissed as insignificant and not worth remembering. As always, my face breaks into a grin when I recall some incident or disaster that made one hunting trip more memorable than another. When a man is armed with a hard-case bunch of mates, a sense of humour and a rifle, he's likely to run into a bit of mischief and encounter a few interesting situations while in the mountains.'.
