What if you don't have a dream?
Every graduation speech, every self-help book, every well-meaning mentor says the same thing: Find your passion. Discover your purpose. Know your "why." But what if you don't have one? What if, when someone asks "What is your dream?" all you feel is silence? This book was written for that silence.
Built, Not Dreamed flips the conventional wisdom on its head. Instead of "dream first, then do," it argues something radical and backed by both research and lived experience: the doing creates the dream. Not the other way around.Through the story of one man's unscripted journey — from a small town in eastern India to engineering management at a global technology company, with no master plan, no burning passion, and no five-year vision — this book shows how purpose is something you build, not something you discover.
Inside, you'll find:
- Why confusion is a privilege, not a flaw
- The Extraction Principle — how to mine every experience (even the "wrong" ones)
- How to be useful before you're great
- Why the flat period is where all real growth happens
- The Arrival Fallacy — and what to do when success feels empty
- How to build a complete life, not just a career
- The debt of the first-generation professional
This is not a book about hustle. It's not a motivational speech. It's a quiet, honest account of how an ordinary life becomes extraordinary — one action at a time.
If you've ever felt behind, lost, or unclear — start here. Start before you're ready. Start before the dream exists.
