About the Author
Debra Lane has been an educator for over 30 years as a teacher and administrator in the U.S. and abroad. She has led several schools as principal, including most recently at one of the world's leading international schools, Shanghai American School. She taught grades from pre-K through middle school and ESOL, Literacy, and Gifted and Talented classes in Fairfax County Public Schools and the Dominican Republic. She holds a BS from Baylor University, master's degrees from Virginia Tech and George Mason University, and an Ed.D. from the University of Virginia. Her dissertation on bullying prevention has led to her advising government agencies, associations, and school boards on effective bullying prevention strategies locally and internationally. She has taught undergraduate and graduate classes at George Mason University and the University of Virginia. As part of her work with the National Staff Development Council (Learning Forward), she applied current research in adult learning to her work on staff development, focusing on professional learning communities. She presented at numerous international conferences, including the Near East South Asia Association, Tri-State Educators, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and her work with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation at the National Science Foundation. For the past five years, she has worked on federal government grants focusing on transformative leadership and increasing teachers' leadership and instructional roles across the U.S. and Central and South America. Another role she led was leading the accreditation process across Virginia; before this position, she was Director of Talent Development at Alexandria City Public Schools for four years. In addition to being a state accreditation officer, Dr. Lane has also participated in accreditation teams in China and Hong Kong with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). She was nominated as Virginia Principal of the Year and won the Chesapeake Bay Foundation Educator Award in 2009. Recently, Dr. Lane was an educational consultant at Lane Leadership Group, LLC, and her work led her to build leadership development programs for the US Federal Government. She serves as Chair of the Fall for the Book Literacy Festival at George Mason University and a board member of IDEA (Inclusive Development Education for Adolescences’) and WABA (Washington Area Bicycle Board Association).
Jenna Konyak Terrell is a knowledgeable and established professional with a rich background in higher education administration. Expanding across multiple organizations in the northeast, Dr. Terrell has developed a passion for organizational commitment and leadership in today’s changing society. She connects with students and colleagues across campus and across the country to examine current practices and identify ways to enhance and embrace change to strengthen policies and procedures related to leadership development. Expanding her knowledge and education is very important to Dr. Terrell. She holds a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership Studies from Northeastern University. Dr. Terrell also holds a Masters of Art in Students Affairs in Higher Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management from Siena College. Her educational background highlights her focus on leadership in today’s society and the impact of tomorrow’s leaders in our communities. Dr. Terrell currently serves as the Director of Student Engagement Operations at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. In this role, Dr. Terrell works directly with students and campus colleagues to develop policies and processes that emphasize the individualized identities of each community member. Her work embodies leadership development, assessment, mentoring, and large-scale problem solving. Over the past decade, Dr. Terrell has been forging her way in authorship. Furthermore, she has gained respect through presentations both locally and nation-wide. She has contributed to the dialogue and exploration of leadership in today’s society with a focus on intersectionality of identity and its impact on success. Dr. Terrell's work emphasizes her interest in broadening the conversation around gender in the workplace and developing effective leadership practices the strengthen the success of an organization.

Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following. Consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business, craft or profession.
Information regarding the right of withdrawal
Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to Rarewaves.com USA, Unit 144 The Lightbox, 111 Power Road, W4 5PY, London, London, United Kingdom, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
