How to Build Writing Success Sentence by Sentence is written by highly regarded author Dr Christine Braid with foreword by Dr Helen Walls (The Writing Teacher). The sentence is a key building block for overall improvement in writing yet the technical details can seem daunting to some teachers as well as their students. This resource offers a research-based approach that has proven successful in the classroom in progressing students' skills with sentences across Years 1 to 8. Recognising that teachers need to understand sentence structure to teach sentence writing effectively, this book sets out essential technical knowledge in an accessible way, with examples from classroom practice. From this foundation, it then offers a wealth of ideas for teaching by drawing on the expertise of published authors. Engaging texts from skilled writers demonstrate a range of effective sentence-writing techniques and provide students with both support and inspiration as they develop their writing craft.
