About the Author
In 1966, my grandfather, Rollie Walsh, died. I was eleven years old. My older siblings told me. "You know, he wasn't your real grandfather."I did not know. This began my education about our family history. When I got older, knowing our dad and his brothers were Navy veterans, I enlisted in the Navy after graduating High School. I served six years and stayed in San Diego at the end of my enlistment.Dad would send me updates on our general family history as his research progressed. Helping my sister Pam put the final touches on what our dad started has been rewarding at every step.-Steve Workman.
