Item description from seller

Two sets of "cinderella" stamps with perforated edges done especially for the "Bruxelles Exposition 1897" Arts, Science and Industry. A total of 29 stamps showing the high quality ink surface printing being achieved by this printer. 4 have edge loss or wear, the remainder are very crisp and bright, surface colours still shine, with silver and gold printing used. The set with a landscape shape have 15 stamps and the other 14. One set was definitely designed by William Battaille and the other possibly by him. More of a landscape painter I believe.

Store description

We are a small, single-owner business. We have been operating on and off since 1977 and our stock is varied, leaning towards antiquarian and 19th century with the addition of original aquatint and lithographic, or woodcut engravings. Also maps and Ephemera - in fact, anything interesting on paper really. We have in stock every item we list. We do not use stock photographs, but photograph each item individually. We very rarely use "fine" or "mint" as a description, mainly due to the age and the fact that 99.9% of what we sell has been pre-owned and therefor Fine would not be a term for a book we sell despite its fine-like appearance. We always take items back unreservedly if not in the condition as described. We always try to describe fully.

Specialty
