A gripping and fast-paced Pacific fiction adventure that traverses the ocean and realms of existence, that's hard to put down.

Kai bonded with whale Ira, in Marama's womb, but he's also a son of the sea descended from an illustrious line of navigators. When his sea father, Tangaroa, gives Kai and Ira a task, they answer his call to voyage.

Our intrepid young hero and his whale sail into danger and adventure. They battle ghouls, search for a missing girl, and are tested mercilessly when they travel to an island occupied by brutal cannibals. Kai must seek out the most feared man in the islands - a feared chief and blood priest. The enemies Kai's family assail him in the physical and spiritual realms, opening his connection to his ancestors.

Kai utilises all his cunning and skill, but his quest to fulfil his task eludes him. When success is within his grasp, it slips away, leaving him broken and bitter.
