An Irish Plan to Assassinate F.D.R.
Jack O'Keefe, the son of Irish immigrants, earned a Ph.D. in Literature, and attended the University of Iowa Writer's Workshop.
He joined the seminary of the Christian Brothers in West Park, New York, near President Roosevelt's home, and later taught at Power Memorial Academy in Hell's Kitchen, New York City.
After leaving the order in 1972, he did research at the Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum in 2001, scouting the estate as an assassin would. He later traveled with his wife to Dingle, Ireland, where the story begins.
In "Sleeper Agent: A Seminarian's Plot To Kill the President," the authentic voices will stay with you long after you put down this powerful novel.
O'Keefe is a champion at telling this well-crafted tale of life in Dingle, Ireland, and the rough Irish community of New York in the 1930's and 40's.
O'Keefe's wit, skill and pacing keep the plot flowing, as the richly developed characters, and their internal struggles are brought to life in this suspenseful story.
