Unlock the Super Kid Code with book 2 in the Sidekick Secrets Series!
Join Brooke and her classmates on a fun-filled trip to the museum, where Brooke reveals her amazing superpower—naming her feelings! By modeling self-awareness and empathy, Brooke empowers young readers to navigate complex feelings, communicate effectively, and build stronger, more compassionate relationships.
Part of the Sidekick Secrets series, this story invites kids to become self-scientists, using the eight emotional intelligence competencies using the Know Yourself, Choose Yourself, Give Yourself model developed by Six Seconds: The Emotional Intelligence Network. By paying attention to emotions and recognizing patterns, children will uncover the secrets to navigating friendships with confidence, kindness, and compassion.
Brooke’s emotional superpower is enhancing emotional literacy, helping children develop the critical ability to recognize, name, and understand their emotions. This skill is essential for fostering resilience, reducing anxiety, and promoting positive social interactions—whether at home, in the classroom, or among peers. Through engaging storytelling and eye-catching illustrations, this book provides parents and teachers a valuable tool to support children in developing emotional intelligence and equipping them with lifelong strategies for managing emotions in a healthy and constructive way.
Author Dr. Liza Johnson is a visionary educator and advocate for transforming the educational landscape to better serve and support the whole person. She has dedicated her career to championing the cause of creating more effective learning environments by igniting the power of emotional intelligence (EQ). Co-author Molly Schreiber is the Founder and CEO of Challenge to Change Inc..
